You've got it all backwards I just thought you should know (you should know) This ain't a new pattern Remember you're not alone (not alone)

You've got it all backwards I just thought you should know (you should know) What's it that you're after? Will it bring you back home? (Back home)

I wake up and I watch the sunrise Itch my eyes and then crack a smile Then I sprint along the water think about the other path I couldda gone down

Muscles that I'd never seen before The fat recedes to the past I fought I just mean that I spent so long with a dream but never found what it was all for

Did I find me in a new physique? Did I find peace in a habit streak? Maybe I'm biased as a matter of fact Cause I thought I was safe but the fiend came back

The sweets came back The abs went bad The lows came back And the mind went wack Maybe I could make the shift in 5 months I could get it like I did, but for what?

To lose it again when I fall for the lie that I'll find something new in the same old junk? Same old high with the same old guy And the same old drive thru passing as lunch?

Must be a switch or a path or a mix to be here now really letting go of the fix For now I'll reach out for a sign from a version of me that's immune to the tricks

You've got it all backwards I just thought you should know (you should know) This ain't a new pattern Remember you're not alone (not alone)

I lost track of how many rounds it's been Gave peace of my mind every time I spin I dream of a line that I cross at the end It seemed we arrived but forgot our friends

Tales of a man put in another time The masc, it forgot where to place its mind I face my truth, addiction's fruit Used to be I would come with my own screws

Keep with the step of the self-improve Sisyphus costume, doesn't it look cute? Don't it remind you of a time you too gave in to the weight of the pain?

Then we get back to homeostasis just to leave it again forgetting the basis of the thing to prevent depression in the wake I remember the lesson learned so why wait?

Attention is burned with screens and sweet treats Affection is curbed by porn and no sleep When will I stop the search in my dreams? When will I wake to recognize peace?

Invest in the first and crawl without ease Invest in rebirth and open our wings Bless even curses knowing they serve the path that we walk to love at our feet (please!)
